Since my annual abundance of travel is starting up for destination weddings it was a treat to have one so close to home on Saturday. I love to travel, but a break never hurts. I met Ashley and Jared at a bridal show many months ago and the next day Ashley called to schedule a meeting with me. Needless to say we hit it off and got it all booked on the spot. I really like these kids and they are nothing short of amazing clients. They are laid back, easy to work with and made this wedding a pleasure.
After shooting their engagement photos and Ashley's bridal shots I realized just how cute and photogenic she is so I asked to appear in our upcoming video. You will just have to see it for yourself. Sierra and I showed up at the wedding ready to go and found a helpful crowd of famliy and friends on hand to do anything they were asked to do. Nice people! Now, one thing that was unique and almost strange at first was that everyone was bringing a covered dish to the wedding. It reminded me of one of those Sunday afternoon church dinners. You know, where they call it dinner on the ground, but you eat off a table. I still don't get that part. But, this idea for a wedding was a first for me to witness. It was great! People were digging in and loving it all and the food was diverse and abundant. And, I'll bet it was all free. I like FREE.
Ashley and Jared's photos are nothing short of spectacular and not because I shot them. They are great because this bride and groom wanted them to be and they wanted to work to get those photos. They told me that my fees were the biggest investment and they did this because they wanted the work that I do. I am honored and humbled by that and very glad that it all worked just the way they wanted it to.
So, after a week in Hawaii ( yeah I know LUCKY dogs) they will be back and ready for this new life together. Considering the fact that they have been together since they were around 5, I predict a successful and long life together. I sure hope so, because I really like them. Thanks guys for allowing me to document your day.
